Polite but passionate Texas A&M, Oklahoma fans pack Cowboys Stadium for the Cotton Bowl | Dallas-Fort Worth College Sports News - Sports News for Dallas, Texas - SportsDayDFW: "ARLINGTON — A passionate but mostly polite sea of fans in red — some maroon and some crimson — packed Cowboys Stadium on Friday night for the 77th annual Cotton Bowl Classic.
A trip to the Dallas area for college football is a familiar experience for crimson-clad backers of the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas A&M fans in maroon. Only the University of Texas has played more Cotton Bowl games than A&M. And the Sooners have their annual rivalry game against Texas at the Cotton Bowl Stadium, the bowl game’s old Fair Park home.
Marcos Lopez, 31, a 2005 A&M graduate, was mingling with about 30 others Aggies at a tailgate party a few hours before the game. He said Cowboys Stadium was where he wanted to be.
“There is no greater venue,” he said. “This is the Taj Mahal of the west.”"
